GMS Waitlist Policy
At Ghent Montessori School, space is limited and enrollment is competitive, especially in Toddler House. Here’s how our waitlist works:
Enrollment Priority
When placing students, we follow this order of priority:
Re-enrollment of current students
Siblings of current students
Transfers from other Montessori schools
New applicants
After we’ve finalized classrooms based on this order, any remaining applicants may be placed on our waitlist. The waitlist is what we refer to if a space opens up at any point during the school year.
How Do I Get on the Waitlist?
To be placed on the GMS waitlist, all three of the following must be completed:
Attend an in-person tour of GMS
Submit the online student application
Pay the $50 non-refundable application fee
Didn’t Get Into the Session You Applied For?
If your child is not placed in the session you applied for:
Your application may roll over into the waitlist for the next available session (no need to reapply). We will reach out after enrollment to see if you want to stay on the waitlist.
You may be asked to complete a new assessment depending on how much time has passed.
We will reach out by phone or email if a space opens and your child is next in line.
How to Remove Yourself from the Waitlist
If you no longer wish to remain on our waitlist, please contact us:
📧 Email: office@ghentmontessorischool.com
📞 Phone: 757-622-8174
Please Note:
Our Toddler House program fills up the fastest, and it’s very common for waitlist applications to roll over from one session to the next. If you’re interested in Toddler House, we strongly recommend touring and applying as early as possible.
